Five Night Hawks See Double-Digit Scoring in Win Over Skyhawks

Thomasville, GA | The Thomas University men's basketball team (4-7, 3-2 SSAC) would have five players see double-digit scoring in their win over Point University (5-8, 0-6 SSAC) on Saturday afternoon. 

The Skyhawks would begin the first half of play by going on a 8-0 run. With each possession, the Night Hawks would gradually cut into this deficit. Nine minutes into the period, Andre Lightbourne would sink a three to pull the Night Hawks within two points, 15-17. On the following possession, Keon Williams would connect on a three-pointer of his own to give the Night Hawks their first lead of the game, 18-17. With four minutes remaining in the half, the Skyhawks would regain the lead, 28-27. However, on the next possession, Tyson Anderson would capitalize on three made free throws to increase the Night Hawks' lead to two, 30-28. Thomas would enter halftime with a 39-35 lead.

After halftime, the Night Hawks would pick up where they left off. Tyson Anderson, Keon Williams, and Deonta Jones would power a 9-2 Night Hawk run to increase Thomas' lead to 48-37. Five second half three-pointers from the hands of Jarvis Brown would help the Night Hawks put the Skyhawks away, and give Thomas their largest lead of the contest. Following Brown's fifth consecutive three-pointer, the Night Hawks would lead by 26 points, 87-61, with two minutes remaining in regulation. The Skyhawks would not recover. Thomas would take a 91-69 victory.

Jarvis Brown would lead all Night Hawks with 21 points. Four other Night Hawks would see double-digit scoring. Tyson Anderson would record 16 points, Noah Lattin would add 13 points, Joshua Robertson would produce 11 points, and Keon Williams would contribute 10 points. Deonta Jones would lead the Night Hawks in assists with 7. Noah Lattin and Tyson Anderson would lead Thomas in rebounds, each contributing 5. As a team, the Night Hawks would shoot 55% from the field, and 46% from behind the arc.

NEXT UP: The Night Hawks will return to action on December, 21st in an exhibition game against Mercer University. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 PM in Macon, Ga.
