Temple Terrace, FL | The Thomas Night Hawks drop their season opener, on the road, to Florida College, 83-68.
The Falcons led most of the first half. Outside of Thomas scoring the first bucket of the game, the Night Hawks only owned a lead of 8-7 early in the game. Despite, Florida College primarily owning the lead throughout the first half, the Night Hawks were able to keep the score close, with the Falcons never having more than a six-point lead. The Night Hawks trailed at intermission, 38-36.
Florida College would open the second half by outscoring Thomas 17-8 in the first nine minutes. The Night Hawks would eventually cut the lead to two points, with seven minute remaining. The Falcons would go on a 10-1 run, followed by a 13-5 run, to seal the fate of the Night Hawks.
Jarvis Brown scored a career high 32-points, in an effort to keep the Night Hawks close.
Deonta Jones would score double-digits with 10 points, while setting his teammates up with eight assists.
Jailin Lee would add 12 points off of the bench.
Davin Miller would clear 10 rebounds for the Night Hawks.
On the night, Thomas shot 38.2% from the field and 23.3% from behind the arc, while hitting only 56.3% of their free throws.
The Night Hawks will be back in action on Thursday, November 2, as they travel to Montgomery, AL to play Keiser in the SSAC & Sun Conference Basketball Challenge.
