THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Despite six treys from
Jarvis Brown, the Thomas University men's basketball team lost, 70-68, Saturday at the TU Gymnasium.

Brown went 6-of-11 from long distance and hit 5-of-6 at the line on his way to a season-high 27 points for the Night Hawks.

Jordan Booker dished out nine assists and scored 10 points for the Night Hawks. Booker has recorded five or more assists in 10 games this season.

Mohammed Abubakar grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in TU's fourth loss of the season.

Thomas trailed 38-25 at the half, then battled back to take the 63-61 lead with 4:30 remaining when Brown knocked down a 3-pointer. A minute later, Brown finished a layup to give TU a 4-point edge. Thomas held the lead until a layup from Coastal Georgia tied the game at 68 with just over a minute to play. Brown missed a layup with four seconds to go, then Thomas had to foul, allowing Coastal Georgia to hit a pair of free throws to take the lead. TU got a shot off at the buzzer, but it was blocked and Coastal Georgia took the win. Â Â

Thomas is now 12-4 overall with a 6-2 mark in Sun Conference play.

TU is back in action Thursday, when the Night Hawks host the University of Fort Lauderdale at 7:30 p.m. in the TU Gymnasium.
