WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Thomas University men's basketball team defeated RV Keiser University, 85-77, Monday night in Sun Conference action at the Student Life Center.

The Night Hawks have won nine straight games, including a pair against Sun Conference teams receiving votes in national polls. Along with tonight's win, TU also defeated RV St. Thomas University, 84-69, on Dec. 3.

Mohammed Abubakar scored TU's first four points of the game as the Night Hawks took an early 7-2 lead. Keiser battled back to tie the game at seven, then played back-and-forth, tying the game again at 27 with five minutes left in the first half. The Night Hawks went into the half leading, 35-34.

Each team hit five straight buckets to start the second half, then Keiser went ahead by four with 14 minutes remaining. With 10 minutes left, Keiser held its largest lead of the game, 57-50, but an 8-0 run by Thomas gave the Night Hawks back the edge. KU led one more time, 61-60, with seven minutes remaining, but consecutive treys from Thomas put the Night Hawks ahead for the remainder of the game, leading by as many as 11 in the final minute of play.

Five Night Hawks scored in double digits, led by
Jordan Booker with 17. He hit a trio of treys, and was 6-of-9 overall. He also added four steals, two rebounds and two assists.

Abubakar notched 15 points with seven boards and
Shakari Williams grabbed a team high eight rebounds to go with his 13 points, two blocks and two steals.

Tim Williamson dished out seven assists while scoring 11 points and recording a pair of steals.
Corey Fulton posted 10 points.

Thomas forced Keiser into 14 turnovers in the game.

The Night Hawks next host the University of the Virgin Islands on Wed., Dec. 14 at the TU Gymnasium, then travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Embry Riddle Classic Dec. 16 & 17.
