AVE MARIA, Fla. – After an epic win of proportions against the #18 team in the nation, the Thomas University Men's basketball team was hit with a hard reality check Saturday afternoon, as the Night Hawks were unable to overcome a first half blowout that led to a 77-52 loss to Ave Maria in SUN Conference play.
The win extends the Gyrenes' streak to eight games over the Night Hawks.
TU (10-11, 4-7 SUN) suffered from cold shooting, converting a season-worst 28.1% overall while hitting just over 19% from long range.
Senior Guard
Tim Williamson was the only player in the contest to post a double-double (12 pts., 11 reb.), as Senior Guard
Toriano Lewis also tallied 12 points with a .444 shooting percentage from outside the perimeter.
