THOMASVILLE, Ga. – While the most of the conference is jockeying for position in the conference, all eyes will be set on the Thomas University Men's basketball team as the Night Hawks host RV Warner University in The Sun Conference's Game of the Week.
TU (8-12, 8-6 TSC) has now won five of its last six contests found a way to regain its confidence on the court, defeating Webber international Tuesday with an 80-56 blowout win last time out. In the team's win, the Night Hawks were in rhythm, draining 14 3-Ptrs. en route to building its largest lead of the season (30). In the last four contests, Thomas has averaged 51% from the perimeter, a huge reason why the team leads the conference in 3-Pt. Percentage on the season (38.5%).
Since November 19, RV Warner (13-3, 11-3 TSC) has only lost once, as the team continues to average 81 points a game, a TSC best this season. Rod Boggan plays a big role in the team's scoring, as the alledged TSC Player of the Week averages 18.4 points a game.
The Night Hawks are 2-1 when facing teams that have the reigning conference Player of the Week.
Warner won the team's last meeting 92-86 in overtime down in Lake Wales Fla., in which three key Night Hawks fouled out. The Royals currently lead the overall series 12-9, claiming four of the past five contests.
Thomas can punch its ticket to TSC's tournament Thursday with a win and Southeastern loss to Keiser.
