THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team now plays to keep its season alive moving forward, as the Night Hawks travel to Miami Gardens, Fla. Tuesday to take on No. 4 Seed St. Thomas in The Sun Conference Quarterfinals.
Regardless of their regular season results, TU (10-16. 10-10 TSC) is now three wins away from securing a spot in the NAIA National tournament, but the road to a conference championship will prove to be a challenge.
Tuesday night will mark a third TU-STU meeting in a 13-day span, as the Burgundy & Navy swept the Hunter Green & White in the regular season. While Thomas clinched the No. 5 seed Saturday with a 59-50 win over Southeastern, the Night Hawks' scoring offense struggled the previous two contests, failing to reach 60 or more points.
Junior Guards
Tim Williamson and
Trint Bryant have led the scoring offense as of recent, averaging a respective 15 and 12.67 points per game in the last three games.
STU's Dwayne Russell has found a way to excel against TU's defense, scoring 20 or more points in both previous contests.
The winning team will punch its ticket to TSC's Final Four, which is slated for Friday.
Tipoff at the Fernandez Family Center is set for 7:30 p.m. Fans can access the game live by clicking on the links below:
