THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team was outsized and outshot Thursday night, as the St. Thomas Bobcats defeated the Night Hawks 79-69 at the TU Gymnasium.
The Hunter Green & White (8-14, 8-8 TSC) gave up a sizable shot attempts from the field (74) as well as rebounds (47), leading to 30 second-chance points for STU (9-9, 8-8 TSC). Thursday's contest marks the third time this season the Night Hawks have allowed a team to get back to .500 in a conference record.

Jordan Booker combined for 50 of TU's 69 total points, tallying 17, 17, and 16 points, respectively.
1st Half (STU 34, TU 33)
- After both sides exchanged the first three baskets (6-6), St. Thomas jumped out to an 8-2 run, highlighted by three offensive boards, to build a 14-8 lead at the 15:36 mark
- Down 22-16 with 10:31 in the half, TU quickly worked to tie the game at 25 with a 9-3 run that lasted 3:27
- Late in the half, Thomas had several chances to head into the locker room with the lead, but the Night Hawks gambled, taking a lot of time off the clock before missing two, key 3-Pt. attempts
- STU's Tyrik Waite was fouled with seven seconds in the half, going 1-for-2 from the charity stripe to give the Bobcats a 34-33 lead at the half
- TU shot well in the half, converting 56% from the field
2nd Half (STU 79, TU 69)
- It took 1:29 for the first good basket to be made (Layup by Jordan Booker) to give the Night Hawks its third lead of the contest (36-35)
- The Bobcats responded with a 9-2 run to retake the lead 43-37 with 15:52 left
- After a Quinterious Jones layup extended the Burgundy & Navy's lead 47-40, the Night Hawks went on a 9-2 scoring run to tie the game for a fifth time (49-49) at the 10:41 mark
- A go-ahead layup from Tim Williamson with 4:53 left gave Thomas a 63-61 lead, but the Night Hawks choked down the stretch, as St. Thomas outscored 12-1 in a 3:33 span, forcing three steals and two turnovers off the Hunter Green & White

The loss drops Thomas to sixth in the conference, and with wins by Ave Maria and Keiser, the Night Hawks can only finish fourth at best.
TU will have a chance at redemption Saturday against Florida Memorial. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
