THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team is in search of a strong start to its home slate, as the Night Hawks host Brewton-Parker College Monday evening in non-conference play.
TU (3-1) rides a two-game win streak after winning nail-biters against Dalton State and most recently Middle Georgia State in overtime, both by four points. The Night Hawks are off to a good start, winning three of its first four contests for the first time since the 2017-18 season. TU's shooting from the field has also seen a good start, averaging 42.7%.
In his first three games played, Senior Guard
Tim Williamson has scored 11 or more points, leading the team in Points per Game (12.7). Senior Guard
Justin Figueroa has also been off to a hot start, shooting over 48% from the field.
Since its home opener against the Night Hawks, Brewton-Parker (0-4) has struggled to begin the 2021-22 season, failing to shoot better than 34% from the field. Against TU earlier this season, the Barons took advantage of the Green & White's poor shooting, hitting over 48% of its shots from the floor and scoring 14 second-chance points en route to what would have been a 68-54 win for BPC before the team out of Mount Vernon, Ga. was forced to forfeit the contest the next day after using an ineligible player.
BPC's Antrell Williams has shown signs of a potential breakout season, averaging 15 points a game after starting the season with a 21-point performance against RV Warner.
