THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team will conclude its regular season series with Middle Georgia State Monday night as the Night Hawks host the Knights at TU Gymnasium for non-conference action.
After a tough setback to Brewton-Parker, TU (4-2, 1-0 SUN) responded in a huge way, defeating RV Keiser 64-62 in the team's SUN Conference opener. Leading the way was Senior Guard
Trint Bryant, posting 24 points while shooting over 61% from the field and over 57% from outside the perimeter.
The Night Hawks head into Monday night's match shooting over 41% from the field, as Fifth-year DeSean Enzor leads the team with a 61.1% field average. From long-range, the Green & White have averaged eight made 3-ptrs. in the last four games played, led by Senior Guard
Toriano Lewis (14 on the season). Graduate Guard
Reggie Wright has been efficient from long range, shooting .455 on the season.
Middle Georgia State (3-3) will look to even the score with Thomas after suffering a 63-59 defeat in overtime earlier this season. Since the Knights' loss to TU, the Purple & Black have boasted three different players that have registered 16-point scoring average or better in the team's latest four games. Juwan Johnson broke out after the loss to the Night Hawks, posting back-to-back 22-point performances en route to an average 17.3 points. While Tristan Harper has been kept at bay by TU in recent matchups, it has not stopped the Columbus, Ga. native from averaging 16 points (14.3 on the season). Since the home opener against Thomas, Tyler Willoughby has recorded double-digits in scoring, averaging 16.75 points a game in that span.
Tipoff at TU Gymnasium is set for 6 p.m.
