THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball is set to host its SUN Conference opener Thursday as the Night Hawks begin its slate with RV Keiser University.
After a pair of close wins, TU (3-2) stumbled in its home opener Monday, falling to Brewton-Parker 70-55. Despite the setback, Junior Guard
Justin Figueroa put 16 points on the board, as Senior Guard
Toriano Lewis hit five 3-Ptrs. to tally 15 points. The Night Hawks come off eight overall made 3-Ptrs., the second-highest total of the season.
RV Keiser (1-0) heads into Thursday's conference opener with a lot of confidence after handling Voorhees College 79-66. Reigning SUN Player of the Week Shaquille Harris came off a season-ending injury from last year to post 23 points, shooting 9-for-11 paired with eight boards.
While Keiser leads the overall series 12-5 over the Night Hawks, the defending SUN tournament champions were nearly swept by Thomas last season, as only a technical at the end of the game denied the Green & White two wins over the Seahawks.
Tipoff at TU Gymnasium is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Angelo Pontello and Nick Pope will have the call of the contest. Fans can follow the live action by accessing the links below:
