THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team completes its four-game road trip Tuesday as the Night Hawks prepare for its lone game of the week against Middle Georgia State in non-conference action.
After a shaky start to open the season, TU (2-1) bounced back in Life's Running Eagles' Classic, shooting over 52% from the field in both contests while at least two players tallied 15 points or more. While the 3-pt. defense finished the weekend allowing 28.3% of shots from the perimeter, Thomas will look to improve its field defense overall, allowing just under 46% of shots to be converted in Marietta, Ga.
The Night Hawks head into Tuesday's game averaging 70.3 points, thanks to strong play from Senior Guards
Tim Williamson,
Jordan Booker, and
Justin Figueroa, all of whom average at least 11.3 points or more.
Middle Georgia (1-0) heads into its home opener on a high note, coming off an 86-67 win over Coastal Georgia Thursday. The Knights' Jahwan Smith had an impressive showing, tallying 21 points from a 60% shooting performance and a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe.
In the teams' latest meeting, TU was as down by as many as 18 points before staging a comeback attempt midway through the second half, only to fall short in the end 81-75 to the Purple & Black.
Tuesday will mark the third overall series meeting between Middle Georgia State and Thomas, in which the Knights have won both previous contests.
Tipoff at Morris Gymnasium is set for 6 p.m. Check back in for updated live links to follow along with the contest.
