Williams & Lewis Hit Career-Highs in Big Win Over Keiser

Angelo Pontello | Sports Information Director | @apontello44

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team saw huge strides Thursday night, as big nights from Junior Guards Tim Williamson and Toriano Lewis led the Night Hawks to an 85-70 The Sun Conference win over Keiser Thursday night at the de Hoernle Student Life Center.

TU (7-11, 7-5 TSC) gave Keiser (12-8, 8-6 TSC) its first home loss of the season, and its second home loss in the teams' overall series' meetings.

Williamson had his best performance yet as a Night Hawk, scoring 25 points with a 50% shooting percentage that included a perfect 2-for-2 long range.  The Augusta, Ga. native was also perfect from the free-throw line, going 9-for-9 from the charity stripe.

Lewis' sniper skills were virtually precise, notching 23 points by shooting 87.5% from the field, including 6-for-7 outside the arc.

Williamson and Lewis combined for more than half of Thomas' (7-11, 7-5 TSC) scoring offense, as the Night Hawks shot its second-best field percentage on the season (53.8%) and its best from long range (57.9%).  For the second, consecutive time, TU shot 90% or better from the free throw line.

Redshirt Sophomore Guard Keon Williams continued to stay hot from the field, notching a second, consecutive 16-point performance that featured a 61.5% success rate from the floor.

1st Half (TU 46, KU 44)
The Seahawks set the tone of the contest with a Marko Radulovic 3-Ptr. ten seconds in, igniting a 10-2 lead for Keiser in the first 2:10

Thomas quickly made up for the deficit, responding with an 11-4 scoring run to cut Keiser's lead to one point at the 14:57 mark

Thomas took its first lead (20-19) with 12:41 left in the half on a Good 3-Ptr. from Toriano Lewis

TU shot just under 57% in the half

Keiser entered the contest averaging just over 14 turnovers a game; the Hunter Green & White forced 11 turnovers in the first half alone

2nd Half (TU 85, KU 70)
The Night Hawks began the first seven minutes of the half on a 17-5 scoring run, extending the team lead to 63-49

TU reached its largest lead (16) of the night when Toriano Lewis drained a 3-Ptr. at the 9:07 mark
