THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball team prepares to begin its second half of The Sun Conference slate Saturday, as the team hosts Webber International in a big conference showdown.
The Night Hawks (5-11, 5-5 TSC) won the regular season series over Coastal Georgia after holding on for a 68-64 win. TU will have a chance to clinch two series in three days if they can defeat a WIU squad coming off a big win over next door neighbor rival RV Warner. Thomas defeated the Warriors 69-64 earlier this season for the team's first win of the season.
While Thomas has a prime opportunity to sweep this week's games, the team will need to improve its long range shooting from Thursday, converting only 20% of shots.
Junior Guard
Toriano Lewis continues to stay hot from outside the arc. TU's Male Athlete Spotlight has averaged 53.6% from long range and 13.5 points this month. Junior Guard
Jordan Booker has had a productive week, averaging 45% from the field from the past two contests. Junior Guard
Trint Bryant has also had a strong performance this week, averaging 15 Points and 50%.
Webber International (8-13, 4-7 TSC) may be averaging the fewest points scored overall in the conference this season, but the team's past two games saw a tremendous offensive boost, averaging 48.5% from the field. Jaylon Miles has also seen a boost in his performance, coming back-to-back games with 20 or more points.
Tipoff at TU Gymnasium is slated for 4 p.m. While fan attendance is not permitted, spectators can watch the action by clicking on the links below:
