THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University Men's basketball has a chance to get back in the thick of the conference's standings Thursday night, as the team travels to Brunswick, Ga. to face Coastal Georgia in The Sun Conference's Game of the Week.
Thomas (4-11, 4-5 TSC) will look to receive TSC justice twice in a three-day span, after defeating Southeastern University Tuesday night 72-63. The Night Hawks are looking red-hot, coming off a game where the defense forced 23 total turnovers while shooting nearly 43% from long range. Junior Guards
Jordan Booker and
Tim Williamson have been in a groove, as the Andrew College transfers combined fell one point shy of scoring half of TU's total points last time out.
Coastal Georgia (7-6, 5-5 TSC) comes off a 79-63 loss to Warner after squeaking out a 74-72 win over Webber International. Since their 66-60 victory over the Night Hawks last week, the Mariners have averaged just under 45% from the field, but have struggled long range (28%). CCGA continues to struggle from the free-throw line, ranking last in TSC (63.4%). Jordin Parks continues to be the spark for the Mariners averaging 16.6 Points a Game. Parks scored 17 points in the last contest against Thomas.
While the Night Hawks hold the overall series lead 7-6 lead, the team has struggled when playing at Coffin Gym. In the previous five meetings at Brunswick, Ga., the Hunter Green & White has only won once, an 82-81 win in the first-ever game against CCGA.
