THOMASVILLE, Ga. – As teams continue to jockey for position in The Sun Conference, with six teams tied for second place, the Thomas University Men's basketball team will have a golden opportunity to propel themselves in the top half of the standings Thursday night, as the team once again hosts the College of Coastal Georgia in TSC play.
The Hunter Green & White (3-9, 3-3 TSC) comes off a 78-70 win over Florida Memorial down in Miami Gardens. Junior Guard
Toriano Lewis has been red-hot from outside the arc, shooting 71.4% since the start of December. Junior Guard
Jordan Booker comes off a performance to remember, tallying 14 points with nine assists, seven boards, and nine steals. Since December, the Night Hawks have shot over 42% from long-range, which will give the team a tremendous boost over their in-state rivals that have given up TSC's highest 3-Pt. Defense Percentage (38.9%).
Coastal Georgia (5-5, 3-4 TSC) will look to do anything and everything to come away with a win at TU Gymnasium after a ferocious comeback in the second half fell just short in the final minute in the last meeting. The Mariners were defeated 84-80 earlier this season by the Night Hawks after trailing by as many as 20 points. Kenny Brown leads CCGA in Scoring with 16.3 points a game, coming off a 23-point performance in a Monday night win over Keiser. Jordin Parks leads the conference with 9.7 boards a game.
Thomas can maximize its chances for a win between capitalizing long-range and turnovers; the Mariners have averaged nearly 19 turnovers a game.
Tipoff at TU Gymnasium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Although Thomas will not permit fan attendance, coverage of the contest can be found by clicking on the links below:
