THOMASVILLE, Ga. ̶ The Thomas University Men's basketball team is on the road again Wednesday, as the Hunter Green & White travel to Cochran, Ga. to take on Middle Georgia State.
Despite the game results, TU (0-2) finished last weekend's Running Eagles' Classic averaging 83 points a game, shooting 51.3% from the field (19th best in NAIA Division I). The Night Hawks boast four players averaging double digits in scoring. Junior Guard
Trint Bryant had a performance to remember last time out, which included his first, career double-double. Bryant nearly matched his career high Saturday, scoring 31 points while grabbing 12 Boards. Junior Guard
Tim Williamson is another shooter that makes an impact on the court; the transfer currently shoots just under 69%. Fellow Andrew College transfer
Jordan Booker will be relied on to continue orchestrating TU's offensive opportunities, as the Guard averages eight assists a game, a fourth-best in NAIA Division I.
The Knights (1-0) come off a thrilling 91-88 win over Coastal Georgia. Like TU, Middle Georgia State also had their own Thomasville, Ga. native scoring his second-highest career point total in Senior Guard Jordan Willis. Additionally, MGA will look to its other upperclassmen in Junior Juwan Johnson, Junior Tristan Harper, and Senior Josue Passius to split the scoring load; each player scored ten or more points in the team's season-opening win.
While turnovers have not been a major issue for either team, defensively both teams possess a player capable of causing turnovers at will. The Night Hawks will have to be cautious of Jordan Willis, who came away with seven steals last time out, while the Knights will be paying close attention to
Jordan Booker, who averages four steals a game.
Tipoff at Morris Gym is scheduled for 7 p.m.
