THOMASVILLE, Ga. –
Joshua Scott scored 21 points, including seven at the free throw line, to lead Thomas University to an 87-74 victory over College of Coastal Georgia Saturday night at the TU Gymnasium.
Scott hit a pair of 3-pointers and went 7-of-10 from the line on his way to 21 points for Thomas (3-3, 1-0 Sun Conference). Scott also had four rebounds and one assist.
Coastal Georgia led, 32-30, at the half, but Thomas outscored the Mariners 57-42 in the second half to earn the win.
Thomas knocked down 45.9 percent (28-61) of its shots from the field and outrebounded Coastal Georgia, 31-28. The Night Hawks also forced Coastal Georgia into 16 turnovers.
Trint Bryant added 16 points while
Quante Smith had 13 and
Sheldon Hendrix scored 12 points for the Night Hawks. Bryant and Smith each pulled down a team-high five rebounds.
Thomas next hosts Ave Maria (Fla.) Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Southeastern (Fla.) Nov. 23 at 4 p.m. in Sun Conference action.
