THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's basketball team took down Florida Memorial University, 76-50, Saturday at the TU Gymnasium for the Night Hawks' second straight Sun Conference victory.
Thomas (11-10, 7-6 TSC) also defeated St. Thomas University, 70-62, Jan. 24.
Joshua Scott led Thomas with 23 points, his eighth 20-point game of the season. He was 8-of-12 from the field, and made all six of his free throw attempts.
Trint Bryant netted 13 points and grabbed six rebounds while
Kadeem Webb knocked down a pair of threes on his way to 10 points.
Shaquille Holley pulled down a team best seven rebounds.
The Night Hawks' 89.5 percent (17-19) shooting performance at the line was a season high, and only the third time this year TU has hit more than 80 percent at the stripe.
TU swiped 12 steals, with seven players recording at least one takeaway.
After taking a commanding 40-22 lead heading into halftime, Thomas didn't let up in the second half, outscoring FMU 36-28 to earn the 76-50 win.
Thomas plays its third straight game at home when No. 19 Warner University (Fla.) comes to the TU Gymnasium Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m.
