PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Thomas University women's swimming team opened the 2018-19 season Friday at the University of West Florida Aquatic Center.
The Night Hawks' highest finisher was senior
Jamie Haught, who took second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:29.30. Haught also placed seventh (2:03.76) in the 200-yard freestyle and eighth (2:25.87) in the 200-yard backstroke.

Chardonay Tophia to finish fourth (1:45.81) in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Moilna touched the wall third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:20.19. Molina, of Jacksonville, Fla., also finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:17.09) and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.82).

Maggie Davis placed fourth (2:19.02) in the 200-yard butterfly and 12th (2:10.01) in the 200-yard freestyle.
Tophia, a freshman from Atlanta participating in her first collegiate event, placed fourth (26.27)in the 50-yard freestyle, tied for sixth (57.18) in the 100-yard freestyle and took 10th (1:04.10) in the 100-yard butterfly.
Kalaitzis, another rookie swimming in her first collegiate meet, placed fifth in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.06) and 100-yard freestyle (57.13) and took ninth (1:03.37) in the 100-yard butterfly.
The Night Hawks next compete in the TU Invitational on Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Butler-Mason YMCA in Thomasville, Ga.
