Men’s Basketball Plays Saint Thomas in The Sun Conference Tournament

The Thomas University men's basketball team travels to Miami Gardens, Fla. to take on Saint Thomas University (Fla.) in the quarterfinals of The Sun Conference Tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Night Hawks ended the season with a 13-9, 8-8 Sun Conference record and enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed, while the Bobcats finished the season with a 20-8, 11-5 Sun Conference record and hold the third seed in the tournament.

The two teams split games during the regular season, each team winning on the road.

In the first meeting, the Night Hawks topped the then No. 21 Bobcats, 93-61. TU had five players score in double figures led by Katrell Myers with 23. Willie Holloway produced one of his five double-doubles during the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

STU came to Thomasville and took an 85-77 victory over the Night Hawks during senior day on Feb. 11, less than two weeks ago. The Night Hawks again had five players score in double figured led by Myers' 16. Jalen Bonds was a rebounds shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
