THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The Thomas University men's basketball team will seek to sweep Webber International University in their final home Sun Conference game of the season.
After losing to St. Thomas 74-66, the Night Hawks (12-15, 6-8 TSC) dashed any remaining hopes of hosting a TSC quarterfinal game. However, Thomas can still punch their ticket to the TSC tournament by winning one of their two remaining games.
Webber International (11-16, 5-10 TSC) needs a regular season finale victory to lock up a TSC tournament berth. A loss would put their season at stake, as a win by Southeastern University, against Keiser, could knock WIU out of tournament contention. Junior guard Daniel Coffey leads the team in points per game (14.33). Senior forward Dewaine Lyals leads WIU in boards (7.80) and blocks per game (2.56). Lyals' block average is third best in NAIA Division II, while the Warriors rank seventh in NAIA Division II in team blocks per game (4.63) and total blocks (125).
TU defeated Webber International, 99-77, on January 16
th in Babson Park, Fla.
Tipoff at the TU Gymnasium is slated for 5:30 p.m.
