Jason Hendrix | Sports Information Director | @JasonHendrixSID

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's basketball team is still seeking its first Sun Conference victory of the season after falling at home this afternoon to No. 14 Keiser University 77-64.

The Night Hawks (6-10, 0-3 TSC) dominated offensively for the first 13 minutes of the contest, growing their lead to 25-13 at its height.  In the early going, Adonai Rogers, Tre' Ford, Jalen Bonds and Javoris Cooks all netted consecutive three-pointers to help grow Thomas' advantage.

Keiser would battle back over the next three minutes of play responding with an 11-0 run to cut TU's gap to 25-24.  In the final four minutes of the opening half, Keiser would tie the game at 28-28, with 2:46 remaining, before taking a 37-33 lead into the intermission.

Once again, Thomas faced adversity in the opening minutes of the second half that witnessed another 10-point, 51-41, KU advantage with 12:19 left in regulation.

The Hunter Green and White pulled within four, 63-59, with 3:52 remaining but the Seahawks responded with a 14-5 run to end the game.  At the buzzer, No. 14 Keiser picked up the win, improving to 16-1, 4-0 TSC, on the year.

Thomas is now 1-4 all-time against the Seahawks with their only victory coming on January 22, 2015 (87-73).

Head coach Brent Crews reflected on the team's efforts, "We played hard today.  At times, we were a little too unselfish with the ball, but that is a good problem in my eyes.  We had great moments that we can build off of for the future."

The Night Hawks return to action on Thursday, Jan. 14 when they travel to Lakeland, Fla., to face Southeastern University in Sun Conference action. Tipoff from the Furnace is slated for 7:30 p.m.
