THOMASVILLE, Ga. ? On Saturday, the Thomas University men's basketball team's next stop in Sun Conference play is in West Palm Beach, Fla., where they will square off with ninth-ranked Keiser University.
In their last time out, the Night Hawks (9-13, 3-6 TSC) narrowly escaped south Florida with a 57-56 win over Florida Memorial. Thomas now shifts its focus to the Seahawks in hopes of avoiding the season sweep. The upset-minded Night Hawks are led by
Javoris Cooks and
Adonai Rogers. Both men reached double-figures against FMU and look to continue to push the TU offense into the right direction. Cooks now sits eighth in NAIA Division II in total three-pointers made (70). Senior
Andrea Robinson continues to lead the Night Hawks on boards with 7.09 a game.
Keiser (20-3, 8-2 TSC) lost two of their last three Sun Conference games, including a recent 87-73 defeat at the hands of (RV) Johnson & Wales. Junior guard Tyrus Weaver led the way in their last contest, scoring 30 points. Keiser's scoring defense (64.41) has been tremendous, ranking third in NAIA Division II. Part of that defense comes from the Seahawks' perimeter defense where opponents are only making 28.1-percent of their three-pointers. This mark ranks Keiser first in NAIA Division II. Junior guard Stanley Whittaker ranks second in NAIA Division II in assists per game (6.77) and total steals (53).
Tipoff is scheduled at 4:00 p.m.
