THOMASVILLE, Ga.  ?  The Thomas University men's basketball team is looking for a chance of redemption this Saturday as they travel to Ave Maria, Fla., to face the Gyrenes.  Earlier this season, Thomas was defeated at the TU Gymnasium by Ave Maria 71-60.
 
After coming off of a 73-57 loss to Johnson & Wales Thursday night, the Night Hawks (7-12, 1-5 TSC) will look to avoid being swept by Ave Maria for a second consecutive season.  Sophomore Javoris Cooks will be relied upon to continue finding ways to score.  Cooks recently rose to 13th in NAIA Division II in three-pointers made per game (3.22).  Senior Andrea Robinson continues to lead TU in rebounds per game (6.84).
 
The Gyrenes (5-15, 2-5 TSC) will be finding a way to bounce back from a 76-59 loss to Warner in Lake Wales, Fla.  Ave Maria has point producers in senior guard Brandon Dean (16.1), redshirt senior guard Martez Harris (15.0), and senior forward Nate Krimsky (11.2).  Krimsky provides a physical presence on the court when opponents attempt to score, as he leads the Gyrenes in total blocks (25).  Redshirt sophomore guard Exor Torres can be seen as a utility player.  Offensively, Torres averages 10.2 points and 3.44 assists per game.  Defensively, Torres leads the team in steals with 36 on the season.
 
To even the series, the Night Hawks will have to stop the Gyrenes' trifecta offensive assault of Krimsky, Harris, and Torres.  Krimsky has proven to be a dominant force on the wood, while Harris can score and grab boards (5.1 per game). Then there is Torres' specialty: free throws. The Orlando, Fla. native is the NAIA Division II's best free throw percentage shooter (93.8) and can make the Night Hawks pay if fouled.
 
Tipoff at the Golisano Field House is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
