THOMASVILLE, Ga. ?  The Thomas University men's basketball team look to establish a winning streak as they are once again hit the road on Thursday to battle against Johnson & Wales University.
Â
The Night Hawks (7-11, 1-4 TSC) picked up their first Sun Conference victory of the season this past Saturday when they stomped Webber International 99-77. Freshman
Jalen Bonds had a career day for the Night Hawks recorded his first double-double in his collegiate career against the Warriors (21 points, 10 rebounds). Â In addition to Bonds' career, sophomore
Javoris Cooks and junior
Mike Lyons also turned in key performances for the Night Hawks netting 20 and 19 points, respectively. Lyons narrowly missed a double-double, picking up nine rebounds on the afternoon. Cooks' 20 point performance pushed his season points per game average to 14.28.
Â
Johnson & Wales (10-6, 4-2 TSC) are on a three-game winning streak. The Wildcats, who defeated preseason Sun Conference favorite St. Thomas in overtime 81-70, looks to forming a resume worthy of a NAIA DII tournament appearance.  Ricardo Suarez is a force to be reckoned with as he leads JWU in rebounds (108) and steals (31). Additionally, the Miami, Fla., native also leads the Wildcats in points per game (15.57). Senior guard Antwan Hill leads the Wildcats with 58 assists while Ralph Nin, Jr. reigns in the blocks category with 21.
Â
Defensively, Thomas will look to shut down Frank Bennett. Bennett is fourth in NAIA Division II in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.75). He also is fifth in Division II in three-point makes, averaging 3.86 successful a game. Although Thomas was able to contain Webber's Joelle Bigham's three-pointers this past Saturday, it may not be so easy with Bennett who has made opponents pay for not respecting his range from downtown.
Â
Tipoff at the Wildcat Center is set for 7:30 p.m. Â
