THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's basketball team will head down to Lakeland, Fla., for their annual trip as they take on Sun Conference rival (RV) Southeastern University.

The Night Hawks (6-10, 0-3 TSC) are rejuvenated and ready to go after a five day break from games.  Despite a tough 77-64 defeat at the hands of #14 Keiser University, Thomas now shifts gears and looks to pick up its first TSC victory of the year.  This past Saturday, Thomas was led by junior guard and Lawrenceville, Ga., native Adonai Rogers who netted 13 points while picking up five boards.  Teammate Andrea Robison also contributed 11 points and a team high six rebounds while Mike Lyons, who was named TU's Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday, led the Night Hawks with seven assists.

On the season, Thomas has three Night Hawks averaging double figures: Cooks (13.8), Adonai Rogers (13.3), and Lyons (10.9).  Robinson has been a rebounding machine for the Night Hawks bringing down a season total 120.  Lyons also leads the team in assists (60) and steals (20).  Notably, Rogers ranks seventh in the NAIA DII with an 89.6-percent accuracy from the charity stripe.

Southeastern is entering the contest with a similar conference record to the Night Hawks having reached a 12-6, 2-3 TSC, mark through 18 games.  The preseason TSC runner-up pick has won six of its last seven games, including a thriller over St. Thomas, who was the TSC preseason champion selection, in regulation 79-78.  SEU's Jake Hodges, brother to Thomas' Nate Hodges of the men's soccer program, leads the Red and Black with 16.05 points and 2.5 assists per game.  Elijah Ray leads the Fire in rebounds averaging 7.8 a game.  In addition, Larry Taylor leads SEU in assists (77) and steals (24).

The Lakeland-based team is fourth in NAIA Division II when it comes to three-point field goal percentage (42.8), and they are 10th in overall field goal percentage (49.2).  SEU is known as a first half team, outscoring their opponents (750-662).  Ultimately, this strong run contributes to their season average of 84.38 points per game.

Tipoff from the Southeastern Sportsplex is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
