Night Hawks Prep for TSC Tournament

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's basketball team will begin its run into the Sun Conference tournament on Thursday, Feb. 26, as they travel to Lakeland, Fla., to face off with Southeastern University.
 
The Night Hawks, who finished the regular season with an 18-10, 9-9 TSC, record, are the sixth-seeded team in this year's tournament.  Thomas will face the Fire from Southeastern who are the third-seeded team. 
 
In the 2013-2014 NAIA National Tournament, Southeastern reached the Final Four.  SEU finished the regular season 16-11, 10-8 TSC.  The teams split the season series with SEU winning 93-80 on Jan. 17 and the Night Hawks winning 79-76 on Feb. 10.
 
Thomas went 1-2 in its last three games finishing the year off with an 83-63 loss on the road against Northwood (Fla.) while Southeastern has been on a three game winning streak defeating the Ave Maria, Webber International, and Florida Memorial.
 
The Hunter Green and White are led by Alan Love, who ranks 14th in NAIA II in field goal percentage (.586). Love is also the team leader in scoring (17 ppg), blocks (0.43 bpg), and rebounds (6.96 rpg), while Max Grace leads Thomas in steals (1.46 spg) and TJ Rines leads in assists (2.29 apg).
 
Five Fire players have scoring averages in double-figures, including Andre Winston (21.36 ppg), Jordan McCloud (14.5 ppg), Timothy Mitchell (13.95 ppg), Brandon Moore (11.75 ppg), and Dana Thomas (10.88 ppg).  Winston also leads the Fire with 1.88 steals per contest and 3.52 assists per outing. Mitchell is averaging a team-best 10.14 rebounds per game.
 
Tuesday's tip is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Furnace.
