THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Thomas University men's basketball team dropped the series finale versus Middle Georgia State University tonight to split the season series with an 81-71 loss.  In their previous meeting, the Night Hawks defeated the Knights 71-68 on a three-pointer by Adonai Rogers.
 
From the tip, Thomas seemed to struggle to get offensive conversions and had multiple turnovers in the early minutes of the game to allow Middle Georgia to go up 15-2 in the first seven minutes.  The Night Hawks would battle back over the next four minutes to pull within two, 21-19, with 6:09 remaining in the opening half.
 
Thomas eventually tied the game at 28-28 with just over a minute left in the half, but the Knights would close with a 5-0 run to head into the intermission with the 33-28 advantage.
 
The Night Hawks took their first and only lead, 39-38, of the game three minutes into the second half.  That lead, however, was short lived, and the Knights never surrendered the advantage for the remainder of the game.  Middle Georgia would outscore Thomas 42-33 down the stretch to lead to their 81-71 victory over the Night Hawks.
 
Thomas (5-4) will be back in action on the Sat., Dec. 5 as they host Ave Maria University in their Sun Conference opener.  Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
