Box Score THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Night Hawks men's basketball team remained undefeated tonight holding off a late offensive surge by Middle Georgia State College to win 83-81.
From the tip, both squads traded leads and baskets like prize fighters going head-to-head in a championship fight until the Night Hawks went up 8-4 3:10 into the game. The Knights stormed back going on a 15-1 run midway in the first half to build an 11 point advantage. The Green and White answered back with a 12-2 run tying the game at 22 with 7:25 remaining in the first half. Each team kept suit with trading baskets and leads leading up to the half. At the intermission, the Night Hawks clung to a 40-38 lead over the Knights.Â
Once again, the second half action mirrored that of the first. Each team continued trading baskets until the Night Hawks took a commanding 15 point lead with 4:48 remaining in the game. The Knights narrowed the lead over the next four minutes until tying their junior guard Buddy Bivins tied the game at 81 with a 12 foot jumper with 6 seconds remaining in the contest.  The Night Hawks drove the length of the floor where senior forward
Alan Love was fouled with 1.4 seconds remaining on the clock. Love hit both free throws to cement the victory for the Night Hawks.
Love led the way for the Night Hawks with 28 points and five boards in 33 minutes of action while sophomore
Adonai Rogers added 16 pointsand three rebounds in the effort.
TU improved to 5-0 on the season sending Middle Georgia to an 1-1 record overall.
