NAIA #19 St. Thomas University (10-3, 3-0) proved to be too much for TU Men's Basketball (8-5, 1-2), topping the Night Hawks 77-65 on Saturday afternoon in Sun Conference action at the Thomas University Gymnasium.
TU opened up a 6-2 lead to start the game. St. Thomas hit a three with fifteen to play, making it an 11-9 game. STU went on a 6-2 run to take a 15-13 lead before a bucket by freshman guard

Dionte Agard knocked down two free throws, giving Thomas a 17-15 advantage and junior guard
Keldrick Davis knocked down a jumper to give TU a 21-17 lead. A two pointer by senior forward
Justyn Watkins gave the Night Hawks their biggest lead of the day at 25-17. St. Thomas would go on an 11-0 run to take a 28-25 lead and the teams exchanged buckets before STU started another run to make a 43-33 game with 2:35 to play. Seven unanswered points by STU in the final 1:10 of the half gave the Bobcats a 52-37 lead heading into the locker room.
Agard knocked down a three to open the second and after a STU basket Watkins knocked down a bucket to keep the Bobcats lead at 12. St. Thomas ran away with the game over the next five minutes opening up a 17 point lead. TU got back into the game and made it a ten point game, 64-54, with a dunk by freshman guard
Adonai Rogers off a STU turnover and a free throw by Davis. Thomas would be unable to reduce the margin further and St. Thomas executed late to close out the 12 point win.
Looking to get back to .500 in TSC play, the Night Hawks will next travel to Daytona Beach, FL, to face NAIA #1 Embry Riddle University on Thursday January 9
th at 7PM.
