Armory Field
Armory Field is the home field for Thomas University's varsity and junior varsity softball programs. Nestled within the local community, Armory Field sits as the neighbor to the Thomas Community Resource Center and a joint park area owned by the City of Thomasville. The field is located between the Georgia National Guard Armory and Varnedoe Stadium, the home of Thomas University's baseball team. The University has an agreement with the City of Thomasville naming Thomas University as the exclusive managers and users of these facilities.
Â
Located 1.1 miles from TU's Magnolia Campus and 2.1 miles from the main campus, Armory Field has two pitching stations and batting cages for training. From pole to pole, the outfield fence sits 200 feet from home plate. The field has a 25-foot backstop behind the plate and an eight-foot warning track down the left and right field lines.
Â
As patrons at TU athletic events, fans have a close-to-the-field presence that makes them feel part of the game. Spectators can enjoy refreshments from the concession stand trailer at the front of the park by the restrooms.
