Physical Address

Thomasville, Ga. 31792

The Smith-Bonavillion Gymnasium is the home court for our men's and women's basketball programs. In Fall 2012, Thomas University opened its Magnolia Campus, which is located at the corner of Pinetree Boulevard and Magnolia Street in Thomasville about one mile from the Woodlands Campus. The Magnolia Campus houses the Smith Bonavillion Gymnasium, Ireland Poe and Smitha Residence Halls, Katherine Reed Practice Field, and the Chapelle Building, which is home to the athletic weight room, athletic training room, football locker rooms, flag football locker room, athletic coaches offices, and eight classrooms.

The gymnasium features a classic wooden finish on the court and ample green and white retractable bleacher seating for home competitions. While a patron at TU athletic events, fans have a close-to-the-court presence that makes them feel apart of the game making it one of the toughest playing enviroments in the conference. Spectators can enjoy refreshments from the concession stand. The venue seats 630 people, includes five total locker rooms, two for our Night Hawks, two for visiting opponents, and one for referees and game officials, restrooms, laundry facilities and equipment storage rooms. In early 2026 signage to comemorate athletic teams who have won conference tournaments, regular season championships, national championships and made national tournament appearances was hung on the back wall of the gymnasium. In May of 2026 the gymnasium received upgraded lighting when UFO High Bay lights were installed to replace the original highbay lighting. Later that same month the facility was renamed from TU Gymnasium to Smith-Bonavillion Gymnasium to continue to honor the legacy of the Smith family (long-time supporters and benefactors of the university) and President Emeritus Dr.Gary Bonvillian (2005-2017) after moving from the former Forbes Campus to the Woodlands Campus.
